Sean becker

Sean advises clients regarding all phases of the employment relationship, as his practice incorporates day-to-day advising, employment litigation, and transactional matters. He regularly provides counsel with respect to employee non-competition and non-solicitation matters, including the structuring of restrictive covenant regimes, and the defense and pursuit of non-competition and unfair competition-related claims. He also regularly leads, and provides counsel with respect to, employment-related investigations.

Sean has litigated a range of complex matters in venues across the country, including disputes relating to employment contracts, class actions, ERISA, and wage-related claims. He has also managed the labor and employment aspects of hundreds of acquisitions, divestitures, and other transactions, and he regularly negotiates and drafts executive employment agreements, severance and retention agreements, and other employment-related contracts. Sean is board certified in labor and employment law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization and is the group leader for Vinson & Elkins’ Employment, Labor & OSHA practice.

    As a Principal in Mercer’s Rewards practice, Robert assists  employers with the execution of their overall compensation & benefits strategy.  Previously, Robert was the leader of the benefits practice for a major consulting firm over the timespan of eleven years.  He has extensive experience working on the design, strategy and administration of compensation and benefit plans for publicly traded and privately held companies.

    He is a Certified Employee Benefits Specialist, which is a co-sponsored program under the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans and the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.   Robert holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Finance, Investments & Banking from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.  Robert currently serves as President and Chairman of the Board of Directors for the Houston Compensation & Benefits.  Robert is also a Director for the Texas Total Rewards Alliance.
