Bio:   John begins his Presidency of the San Antonio Compensation Association for two years, starting January 2018.  After graduating from UTSA with a BBA in Human Resources in 2006, John has worked in all areas of Human Resources, to include roles as an HR Generalist, and worked his way up in compensation to his current role as a Manager, Compensation.  After completing an MBA in Finance from Our Lady of the Lake University in 2009, he has used his knowledge of finance and compensation to help build the compensation program at his current employer, BioBridge Global. Within the last couple of years, he's continued to be active in SACA, beginning with his role as a Committee Member. John will also be President of the Texas Total Rewards Alliance, which will bring the Total Rewards Conference to San Antonio in 2019.

Bio:   Claudia's career in HR career began in 2006 with Dr Pepper Snapple Group (now Dr Pepper Keurig), followed by an opportunity at Witte Museum as an HR Coordinator and HR Manager.  Currently, Claudia is a Compensation Analyst at Security Service Federal Credit Union, one the largest credit unions in the country. Claudia has heavily involved with the San Antonio Human Resources Management Association, where she has served as a member of the Executive Board, as the Treasurer for a 2 year term. She earned a Bachelor’s in Business Management (UT Arlington) and a Bachelor’s of Art in Sociology (UT Austin).  Claudia has also earned her SHRM CP and SHPR certifications.

Bio:   Javier is a graduate of the University of the Incarnate Word where he earned his B.A. in Human Resources. He has been in the financial services industry since 2006  and has held various roles in retail branch management and human resources. Currently, Javier is a Social Media & Talent Acquisition Strategist at Security Service Federal Credit Union--one of the largest credit unions in the country. In his role, Javier is responsible for the overall employer brand and social media strategy & initiatives for the credit union. Javier is a fanatic of all things HR including talent acquisition, technology, HR disruption, and compensation.

Bio:   Laura has a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management from UTSA and has been working in Human Resources for two and a half years.  Currently, Laura is the Compensation Analyst at BioBridge Global.  Previously having worked in general HR functions with BioBridge Global and an HR internship with Accenture.  Laura is actively working toward the Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) certification.

  Job Title: Senior Compensation Analyst

Bio:   Heather Harrison is currently a Senior Compensation Analyst at Petco.  She brings 12 years of human resources experience, including 10 years in a compensation consultant capacity with experience from a variety of industries including retail/logistics /oil and gas with Petco, CST Brands, Inc. and NuStar Energy; medical technology with KCI and Becton Dickenson; and health science education and research with the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio. Heather is well versed in compensation methodologies and administering global compensation programs. Additionally, Heather graduated from the University of Texas at San Antonio with a BBA in Human Resource Management and has held the professional designation of Professional in Human Resources (PHR) for the last 7 years,  is also a SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP), and actively working toward the Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) certification.
